About Jason
Game creator Jason Alejandre is an industry veteran who completed his first title in 1992 for the Sega Genesis. He and his company, Game Mechanic Studios (GMS), have since worked on some of the top grossing game franchises of all time, including “Call of Duty,” “Medal of Honor,” and “Mortal Kombat,” to name a few. Jason serves as President and Creative Director for GMS, an elite development house focused on creating groundbreaking AAA titles and driving the forefront of the interactive entertainment industry into the future.
With over 20 years of game-development experience and 12 years in the business as an independent studio, Jason has established himself as one of the go-to talents in the gaming world. During his time at Universal he worked with the likes of Quentin Tarantino. After founding GMS, he worked with Gore Verbinski. And his projects have shared the stage with Mark Zuckerberg at Oculus OC3’s ground-breaking annual VR show, and been featured by Apple at one of Steve Jobs’ final keynotes.
Growing up, Jason cut his teeth playing “Pac-Man,” and by age 10 already knew he would pursue a career in the game industry. A serial entrepreneur, he tested his skills at a young age by selling an array of self-curated items door-to-door and engaging in other such enterprising efforts, strengths he carries with him today in leading his team at GMS. And by the age of 15 he was working with Park Place Productions, the original developers of the first title within the John Madden football franchise.
Over the next few years, Jason moved around between several different development houses, such as Screaming Pink, NovaLogic, Universal, and Electronic Arts, where he worked on such titles as "Delta Force: Black Hawk Down," “Scarface," and Medal of Honor. And more recently Jason’s studio worked on "The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners," as well as the remastered "Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2," set for release in September 4, 2020.
As an entrepreneur in technology who has a hand firmly in the future of the game industry, Jason says, “I'd like to see games leave an imprint on the industry in the way that a great film has. Films like ‘The Godfather,’ ‘Star Wars,’ ‘The Matrix,’ and ‘Wizard of Oz’ — classics that show what we are capable of achieving as artists that blow away player's preconceived expectations.” To that he adds, “We’re currently working on something very special that I’m hoping will help define the next generation of games.”
